Anonymous asked: there is definitely a proper way to put a western saddle on the ground. it should be set upright so that the pommel and the horn and supporting it and the cantle is in the air. dropping a western saddle can certainly damage it.

Anonymous asked: different anon here. western saddles definitely have trees, and they come in different widths just like English saddles do. you can get quarter horse bars, semi-quarter horse bars, saddles that are designed specially to fit Arabians, and saddles that are designed specially to fit gaited horses.
